Merton Jones

Merton Jones, 81, was called peacefully to his heavenly home on march 7, 2015 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home. He was the son of the late James and Mildred Jones. Predeceased by his sisters; Winifred Latham and Phoebe New. Merton is Survived by his sisters, Nancy McDonald, Mildred McKeon and Deborah Deerfield. Beloved Uncle to a host of Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Merton was a lifetime member of the Rensselaer Elks Lodge 2073 and was employed as a painter and maintenance worker there as well. Funeral Service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau on Sunday March 15th at 5:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 1-5pm. Interment will be scheduled in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations in Mertons' memory may be made to the Rensselaer Elks Lodge 2073, 683 Columbia Turnpike East Greenbush, NY 12061.
