Mark Swenson

Mark Gary Swenson Sr., 64, of Castleton passed away on Sept. 22, 2015 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany after a long illness. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Albert and Ann Swenson and had lived in Nassau before moving to Castleton. Mr. Swenson served in the United States Marine Corps. Gary was a former carpenter with Local #370 in Albany and former member of the Nassau American Legion post 1268. Gary was predeceased by his wife Merry (Ertel) Swenson and his son Mark G. Swenson Jr. He is survived by his daughter Kelly (Anthony) Martone of Buckeye AZ; sisters, Patricia (Walter) Myers of Selkirk, Ingred (Robert) Austin of Colonie, Jacqueline (Faustin) Vath of Nassau and Virginia Swenson of Albany. He is also survived by his grandchildren Thomas and Branden Martone. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, Friday Sept. 25 at 9:15 AM and St. Mary's Church in Nassau at 10:00AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00PM. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.
