Alan Weeks

Alan Edward Weeks, 67, passed away Saturday, October 10th, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn in 1948 to George and Edna Hunt Weeks. Alan appeared in countless Broadway, Off Broadway and touring theater productions as well as acting on film and television. Moving to East Nassau in 1985, he became Director of the Student Theater Outreach Program at the Egg and Camp Director for the Rural Migrant Ministry of Poughkeepsie, NY. By 2005, he was a teacher for the Albany City School District and Adjunct Professor at Russell Sage College. He directed productions for Capital Repertory Theater and for ten years was the Director of Performing Arts Camp at JMU4Kids. He is survived by his wife Sara, sons Brinan and Christian Jack and daughters Demery and Eva Weeks. He is also survived by his aunt, Alberta (Tootsie) Hardin, beloved first cousins, nieces nephews, grand-nieces and grand nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at the Empire Plaza Convention Center, Saturday, October 17th from Noon-4pm. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
