Edward Couse

June 6, 1949 — September 12, 2016

"Bill" Ed gently passed away on Sept. 13, 2016 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents Edna Brust and Edward W. Couse Sr. Bill grew up in Nassau with his siblings; Jackie (Ron Bruce), Judy (the late Jack Wering) and Jeff (Mary). After 37 years of marriage he leaves his wife Joyce (Joy) Bernat and his three sons, Don(Cindy) Tim and Jason (Becka). He will be truly missed by his grandchildren; Justin, Jamie, Nick, Craig, Michael, Benjamin and Mackenzie Joy. Mr. Couse began his working career at the Old Morris Body Shop in Schodack where he made many lifelong friends and acquaintances. Bill worked independently and for many body shops until he left Colonie Toyota in 1988 to work for Travelers Ins. Co. as an appraiser. Ed retired from Travelers in 2008 but not before adding more friends and acquaintances to his life, including his dinner family at OKenny's Express. Bill loved watching NASCAR, Drag racing and racing from his reserved seat at Lebanon Valley where he worked on the tow truck for Kennedy's Garage during his younger years. Mr. Couse's family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the Community Hospice for all of their care and support in letting him go "his way". Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Friday at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8pm. Interment in Nassau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer NY 12144. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
