Nassau- Patricia M. Shea age 91 passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at Riverside Nursing Home in Castleton. Pat was born in Boston, MA, was a resident of Nassau and Castleton before entering the nursing home. Mrs. Shea was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Nassau for many years. She was an active bowler and golfer, being the only women to play in a Jim Rice Golf Tournament in South Carolina and won a trophy. She had a passion to travel, especially to Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean and driving cross country. Pat was known for throwing parties, particularly her St. Patrick's Day party. She loved to sing and go caroling on Christmas Eve. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Wife of the late John Shea. Mother of Kevin (Noreen) Shea of Union, S.C., Mary Shea of Nassau, Kathleen (David) Hart of Stephentown and the late Michael Shea and Maureen Piniazek. Mother-in-law of Martha Shea and John Piniazek. Sister of Frances Galvin and the late Paul, Lawrence, and James Galvin, Mary Ann Manley, Barbara Mann and Dorothea Comerford. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street, Nassau Wednesday morning at 9:15 and 10 o'clock at St. Mary's Church in Nassau where the funeral mass will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Castleton.
