Frank Prevratil, 65, of Chatham Center, passed away at home on May 29, 2011. The son of the late Frank C. and Ruth M. (Schweitzer) Prevratil, Frank was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Thomas A. Edison. For many years Frank owned Frank's Garage in Nassau and was well known by the community. Frank was also a former truck driver. In his retirement he ran a horse riding ranch and rescue ranch of which he was very proud. Frank was formerly very active in the Nassau Little League and was a former member of the Nassau Hose Company #1 and a member of the Fire Police.

Frank is survived by his; sons, Frank A. (Sheri) Prevratil of Colonie and Neil A. (Tracy) Prevratil of Chatham Center, brother, Charles (Debbie) Prevratil of FL, grandchildren, Krista (Sherman) Crowe, Allison, Seth, Frankie, and Abby Prevratil. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Damian and Olivia Crowe. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister Dianne Prevratil.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church on Church St. in Nassau on Thursday June 2, at 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours.
