Obituary of Alphonse L. Donnelly

Donnelly, Alphonse- Port St. Lucie, FL Al passed peacefully on February 25, 2021 joining his beloved Lillian in heaven. Born in Albany August 22, 1927, he was the son of the late John and Louise Donnelly. Al is survived by his children Paula Gannon (Bob), Dennis (Chrisanthe) and Thomas (Mary), five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with brothers: John, Dan and Joe and his sister Marion Nolan. He was predeceased by his dear granddaughter Colleen Donnelly; sisters, Margaret Clancy, Katherine Eichinger and Patricia Donnelly. For many years Al divided his time between homes in Florida and Nassau. He was a devoted husband caring for his wife, ten years, as she struggled with Alzheimer’s. When asked, how he did the care taking day in and day out, he would reply, “I stay happy. Everyday, I wake up and she’s still with me I’m happy.” Al was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 106 for 60 years. He enjoyed membership in the Nassau Sportsman’s Club and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed telling stories, taking cruises, fishing and hunting. There will be no services. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family
