Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irene Rose Rings went home to be with her lord on Sunday, June 20, 2021, passing peacefully in her sleep with family at her side. Irene was born on September 3, 1921 to the late Frank W. and Catherine Murray, founders of Murrays Beach Lyons Lake. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Rings. Beloved mom of sons, Robert, William, Joseph, Barry and daughter Carol and spouses. Irene very much enjoyed her seven grandchildren and their spouses and was blessed with ten great-grandchildren. She lived her whole life at Lyons Lake in the Town of Nassau and was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Nassau. Irene graduated Valedictorian from Martin Van Buren High School in Kinderhook. Irene was owner and operator of Murray’s Beach since 1966. She loved visiting with everyone who came through the gate when the lake was open. Her fist love was her family and she had a passion for mowing the extensive lawns, gardening and generally maintaining the grounds at Lyons Lake. Mom will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to join us at St. Mary’s Church in Nassau on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10AM where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. A Celebration of her life will immediately follow the Mass at the Chandler-Young Veterans Assn. (VFW) located at the corner of US Rt. 20 and Lyons Lake Road in Nassau. Irene had a love of flowers, and they would be appreciated or donations in her memory may be made to The Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
