Kathryne P. Cassera, 75, went home to our Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family in her home in Mellenville, New York. Kathy was born March 17, 1946, in Hudson, New York to Pasquale and Myrtle (Felter) Torchia. Kathy spent most of her early adulthood as a homemaker. She later spent her time and workforce efforts in retail and retail management, but she will be most remembered for her passion for interior design & crafting. Kathy was blessed to know true love for a total of 52 years: 25 years with her first love Clifford Bain, from this union she was blessed with her three children, and 27 years of unconditional devotion to "her guy", Johhny Cassera. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her first husband Clifford S. Bain, and her brother John Torcia. Kathy leaves in this world to cherish her memory: her devoted husband Johnny Cassera; two sisters, LeeAnn (Sterling) Scism of Cairo, NY and Mary (Ted) Van Dyke of Glenford, NY; her three children Leona (Terry) Myers of Toledo, OH, Timothy (Cyndi) Bain of Mount Joy, PA and Marsha (Jimmy) Winters of Mellenville, NY. From her second marriage, two step-children; Lisa Cassera and Johnny Cassera, Jr. of Schenectady, NY. In addition, Kathy was blessed with 9 grandchildren; Adam (Brittany) Myers of Olivebridge, NY, Trey (Ashley) Myers of Rancho Cordova, CA, Amber and Tiana Myers of Toledo, OH, Courtney Bain of Glens Falls, NY, Matthew and Zachary Bain of Mount Joy, PA, Noah and Collin Winters of Mellenville, NY; 1 step-grandchild, Erica Loveless of Schenectady, NY, along with 3 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 great-niece, and her beloved dog "Bam Bam". At the request of Kathy and the family, there will be a private cremation and no funeral services will be held. In lieu of services, the family will gather at a later date to celebrate the life of this beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company, ATTN: Jim and Marsha Winters-PO Box 81 Mellenville, NY 12544.
