John P. Travers

John P. Travers Jr., 59, of Stephentown passed away at Albany Medical Center on October 26, 2021. Born in Albany on April 18, 1962 he was the son of John P. Travers Sr. and the late Dolores (Kelly) Travers. John was a loving husband, was adored as a father and grandfather and was respected as a hard worker and leader. John loved and cared for all his children regardless of blood or relation. He passed down his love and knowledge of hunting, fishing, and boating to all of his family. John’s hard work funded his children’s dreams and his work ethic made sure that they never went without. He will forever be missed. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Travers; sons, Eric Travers, John Traynor, Ian Traynor and Dylan Traynor; daughters, Jamie Travers, Casandra McElroy, Kelly Travers, and Kristin Traynor; sisters, Kelly (Dan) Travers-Main and Linda M. (Rod) Lounsbury. He is also survived by eight grandchildren as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held Friday morning, 10:00am at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. in Nassau. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Thursday Oct. 28, from 4-7pm. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nassau.
