George Brehm Jr.

January 15, 1960 — December 19, 2022

George Brehm Jr. 62, of Philmont passed away suddenly at home on December 19, 2022. Born in Albany he was the beloved son of George Sr. and Rose (Ferreira) Brehm. George was a carpenter by trade working for many years for Cavagnaro Construction in Chatham and was also a ski patroller at Catamount Mountain Resort having earned their prestigious Purple Heart for his work there. George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and canoeing. His greatest quality was the fact that he was a selfless man. He was very giving of himself and his time to help anyone who might be in need. It was this quality that led to him being loved and respected within his community.


George is survived by his parents George Sr. and Rose Brehm; his uncles Al (the late Beverly) Ferreira Jr. (Gen) and Gene Burkhart; his cousins, Al (Lisa) Ferreira, Pam (Hal) Homer, Jeff (Lori) Ferreira, Brian (Diana) Ferreira and Debbie Brehm; special friend, Eileen Ordu. He is also survived by his best buddies Sammy and Rudy, his cats. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Edwin and Ester Brehm, maternal grandparents Albert and Henrietta Ferreira Sr., uncle and aunt Edward and Statia Brehm.


A memorial service will be held at the Clearview CMA Church, 275 Schodack Drive, Castleton, NY 12033 on Saturday January 7th at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service at church from 10am-11am. Reception to follow.


Rest in peace dear son and fly like an eagle.
