Obituary of Myrtle H. Puzio
Myrtle Hazel Puzio (1927-2022), Nassau
Myrtle went to be home with the Lord on December 24th, 2022. She is predeceased by her late parents Dennis and Hazel Williams; Siblings Freda, Alta, Irene, Clifford, Leslie, Grace, Gloria, Everett, Eudora and her loving husband Stanley. She is survived by her children: Stephen M. Puzio, Darlene (Fred) Ahlborn, Kenneth Puzio, Donna (Lee) Johnson, and Denise (David) Dunton; and her daughter-in-law’s Linda and Barbara; Her grandchildren: Stacia Puzio, Nicole (Dean) Thomas, Shawn (Kalli) Puzio, Stephen C. Puzio, Gregory (Laura) Puzio, Russell Johnson, Mark (Janelle) Johnson, Kristy (Justin) Riccio, Sara (Jason) Guzman, Katie (Nathan) Sawyer, David J.(Laura) Dunton, and Sam Dunton; Her great grandchildren: Kaylah, Kyle, Braydon, Holden, Taylor, Michael, Nathaniel, Elijah, Natalie, Charlie, Ruby, Annabelle, Avery, Aiden, Neala, Liana Hazel and Gabriel; many of whom surrounded her with love on the final days of her life.
Myrtle was a homemaker, and her greatest accomplishment was her family. She was married to the love of her life, Stan, for sixty years in which they shared many adventures such as going dancing and camping in the Adirondacks. Myrtle spent most of her life worshiping Jesus at the East Nassau Baptist Church with her friends Loretta and Marge. She enjoyed going to garage sales with her best friend/sister Freda, planting flowers, bird watching, baking the most delicious pies, watching Judge Judy, and having picnics with her family. She was also an avid NY Yankees fan. She was thrilled to watch Aaron Judge hit his record breaking 62nd home run. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Myrtle’s extraordinary life at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY on Friday, December 30th. Calling hours will be from 10:00am-12:00pm. Funeral service commencing at 12:00pm and interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S. Pearl St. Albany, NY 12202
